Wie leistungsfähig und chancengerecht ist die berufliche Bildung in Deutschland? Um diese Frage zu beantworten, vergleicht der "Ländermonitor berufliche Bildung 2015" die Ausbildungssysteme der 16 Bundesländer anhand von quantitativen Indikatoren. Das Ergebnis zeigt, dass die duale Ausbildung unter Druck steht: In allen Bundesländern sinkt sowohl die Anzahl der Ausbildungsplätze als auch die Anzahl der Ausbildungsbewerber. Wer maximal einen Hauptschulabschluss hat oder ohne deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit ist, der findet schwerer eine Lehrstelle oder einen Platz in einer Fachschule als andere Jugendliche. Da die Ungleichheiten zwischen den Ländern erheblich sind, hängen die Ausbildungschancen zudem auch vom Wohnort ab.
