Der Band präsentiert die Ergebnisse einer empirischen Studie, welche sich mit dem ZEITVERSTÄNDNIS VON SCHÜLER/INNEN DER 6. SCHULSTUFE auseinandersetzt. In der Studie wurde erhoben, mit welchen ZEITKONZEPTEN die Schüler/innen am Beginn des Unterrichts im Fach GESCHICHTE UND SOZIALKUNDE/POLITISCHE BILDUNG an historische Inhalte herangehen.Zeit stellt eine wesentliche Kategorie des historischen Denkens dar. Ausgehend von der theoretischen Einbettung im Rahmen der Geschichtswissenschaft und der Geschichtsdidaktik wird anhand einer Schulbuchanalyse erhoben, mit welchen normierten Zeitkonzepten Schüler/innen dieser Altersstufe konfrontiert werden. Eine empirische Erhebung bei Schüler/innen soll zudem klären, inwieweit diese Vorannahmen, auf denen die approbierten Schulbücher der 6. Schulstufe für das Unterrichtsfach Geschichte und Sozialkunde/Politische Bildung basieren, den tatsächlichen Zeitkonzepten der Lernenden entsprechen bzw. inwieweit sie von diesen differieren. Damit will die Studie einen Beitrag zur Stärkung der derzeit wenig beachteten empirischen fachdidaktischen Forschung leisten und auch Impulse für die Entwicklung von didaktisch-methodischen Unterrichtsmaterialien geben.
