Nach einer ausführlichen theoretischen Einleitung geht es um die Medien des Kabaretts, um Satire bei österreichischen Liedermachern (u.a. der Ersten Allgemeinen Verunsicherung) und damit um Zusammenhänge zwischen Satire und Musik, um Satiren auf den Tourismus, um die Frage nach satirischen Zügen im Werk sogenannter 'experimenteller' Autoren, dann um einzelne Satiriker: Helmut Qualtinger, Alois Brandstetter, Thomas Bernhard, Wolfgang Bauer, Felix Mitterer und Christian Wallner (der als Autor von Parodien vorgestellt wird). Ein abschließender Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit kreativem Schreiben von Satire und Parodie in der Schule.
