Kindheit und Jugend in Kärnten, Studium und akademische Laufbahn, Erlebnisse im Amerika der 60er Jahre und in der Sowjetunion 1978, Erfahrungen mit Kino, Tinnitus, Lampenfieber und Familiengeschichte laden ein zur Identifikation, zeigen aber darüber hinaus auch ausschnitthaft-persönliche Blicke auf die Geschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts.Karlheinz Rossbacher gleicht einem Flaneur seines Gedächtnisses, er passiert literarische Stationen und Assoziationen, die ihre Herkunft frühen Leseerlebnissen verdanken. Auch hier kann der Leser ein Stück mitgehen, und, auf eigene Lektüren zurückgreifend, zustimmend nicken, staunen, zweifeln und überrascht einen anderen Zugang zu Literatur(en) finden. Vieles wird auf anregende Weise neu zu entdecken sein.Und wenn richtig ist, dass Lesen und Leben nur durch einen Buchstaben getrennt sind, trägt Gelesenes dazu bei, Gelebtes besser zu verstehen.
