Wahrnehmungen, Emotionen, Meinungen, Vorstellungen, Handeln und Verhalten sind Formen des Weltbezugs. Auch wer kommuniziert, teilt seine WeltbezĂŒge (oder die anderer Akteure) mit und bezieht sich so indirekt auf Welt. Aber nicht nur die Inhalte von Kommunikation lassen sich als Bezug auf Welt beschreiben: Obige Kategorien kennen wir auch als Wirkung von (Medien-)Kommunikation. Und so ist mit dem Weltbezugsansatz eine Perspektive gewonnen, aus der sich Absichten von Kommunikationsteilnehmern, Kommunikationsinhalte und Kommunikationswirkungen beschreiben und analysieren lassen. Indem er vor allem Medieninhaltsforschung und Medienwirkungsforschung integriert, eröffnet der Ansatz neue Optionen einer systematischen VerknĂŒpfung von Medieninhalten und ihren möglichen Wirkungen. Theorien wie Agenda-Setting oder Medialisierung erscheinen in neuem Licht. Aber auch die parallelen WeltbezĂŒge eines Mediennutzers, der (vielleicht) das Medium wahrnimmt, zugleich in der Wohnung handelt, TagtrĂ€umen nachhĂ€ngt und emotionale BezĂŒge auf den Partner erlebt, hat die Theorie im Blick.Im Buch wird der Ansatz theoretisch entwickelt und seine Fruchtbarkeit fĂŒr die Kommunikationsforschung an vielen Beispielen demonstriert.
