So konnten durch umfangreiche Studienserien biologisch und klinisch distinkte Subgruppen identifiziert werden, so zum Beispiel bei den Medulloblastomen und den Gliomen im Erwachsenenalter. Der allgemeine Teil des Manuals stellt GrundzĂŒge der Diagnostik und Therapie dar. Im speziellen Teil werden die einzelnen TumorentitĂ€ten in Hinblick auf HĂ€ufigkeit, Prognose und Therapie fokussiert. Die Rehabilitation wird in einem eigenen Kapitel behandelt, ebenso wie palliativmedizinische MaĂnahmen. Neben der inhaltlichen Ăberarbeitung und Aktualisierung wurden in der 4. Auflage des Manuals zu Beginn jedes Kapitels "Abstracts" eingefĂŒhrt. "Essentials" heben die Kernaussagen einzelner Abschnitte hervor.
