Schulentwicklungsprozesse im Sinne der Entwicklung von Einzelschulen gelten als ein Instrumentarium, um ein friedvolles und gerechtes Miteinander an der Schule umsetzen zu können. Pluralisierungstendenzen fordern hier auch dazu heraus, sich mit der Frage nach Religion und religiöser Pluralität in der Schule auseinanderzusetzen. Die Autorin verknüpft den aktuellen Schulentwicklungsdiskurs mit theologischen und religionspädagogischen Perspektiven und legt eine systematische Analyse der Bedeutung von Religion und religiöser Pluralität in der Schulentwicklung vor. Ergänzend dazu wird mithilfe einer qualitativ-empirischen Studie aus Sicht katholischer ReligionslehrerInnen unter anderem dargelegt, wie Religion von ihnen an der Schule wahrgenommen und welche Bedeutung religiöser Pluralität in Schulentwicklungsprozessen zugeschrieben wird.
