La società odierna ha perso il suo diretto referente: l’uomo.
In effetti, in un contesto sociale divorato dal materialismo ed assuefatto ad esso è quasi difficile parlare di spiritualità come “inizio e fine” dell’essere umano così come viene inteso da Giuseppe Marino nelle sue liriche.
L’uomo, se vogliamo guardare a lui da un punto di vista strettamente cristiano, è nato da un mirabile intreccio di materia e spirito uscito dalle mani di Dio. E, comunque, al di là di tutte le teorie ipotizzate, resta inconfutabile, a mio avviso, il suo anelito di spiritualità che lo rende unico in tutto il Creato. Non a caso Oscar Wilde affermava: “Quello che un uomo veramente possiede è quanto ha dentro di sé; quanto ha fuori di sé non dovrebbe avere la benché minima importanza”.
Ma l’uomo di oggi, ripeto a gran voce, ha perso l’uomo; ha perso cioè se stesso, il suo io più profondo e la stessa ragione del suo essere in vita…

Già, perché si vive? Anche l’uomo contemporaneo indubbiamente cerca risposte a questa domanda e se si confronta con la realtà circostante deve concludere che ha barattato il suo spirito per un bene effimero legato, spesso, alle congetture…
