La tragica scoperta delle sue nobili origini, che fanno di lui l'erede legittimo dei Calvello, una delle piĂš blasonate e prestigiose famiglie della nobiltĂ  palermitana, sconvolgerĂ  il corso del suo destino. Sulla strada, lastricata di avventure, duelli e incontri galanti, troverĂ  il grande amore e la vera amicizia, ma anche l'odio inestinguibile e la vendetta piĂš feroce. Nel succedersi incalzante degli eventi anche il suo mondo verrĂ  fatalmente travolto dal vento impetuoso degli ideali della Rivoluzione Francese, giunti clandestinamente in Sicilia come nel resto d'Europa. Luigi Natoli, di famiglia Messinese, nacque a Palermo nel 1857. Fu narratore, letterato e giornalista fecondo e brillante. La sua produzione letteraria è vasta e spazia dalla narrativa, alla storia, alla poesia.
