Al di là dell'appartenenza politica, dunque, la biografia di La Torre – qui rievocata senza alcun intento apologetico e attenta a evidenziare le numerose zone d'ombra che ne avvolgono la tragica fine rimane emblematica di un modo "rivoluzionario" di intendere i doveri tanto dell'uomo politico quanto del semplice cittadino.
