Questo numero tematico de «L'Analisi Linguistica e Letteraria» prende le mosse da un convegno organizzato dal Dipartimento di Scienze Linguistiche e Letterature Straniere dell'Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano nelle giornate del 16 e 17 ottobre 2015, intitolato Ecodiscorso ed ecocritica: quale reciprocità tra umanità e pianeta? L'anno e la sede furono tutt'altro che casuali, dato che proprio in quei giorni si stava chiudendo un grande evento per la capitale lombarda, Expo Milano 2015, il cui tema Nutrire il Pianeta, Energia per la vita! andava ben oltre il mero interesse per il cibo e toccava aspetti legati all'ecologia, ai rischi ambientali, alle colture sostenibili, alle specie in via d'estinzione, ai rischi degli allevamenti intensivi, invitando l'uomo, per una volta, ad ascoltare le molteplici biodiversità esistenti in natura, adeguandosi a esse anziché imponendo scelte che stanno condannando a morte centinaia di specie ogni giorno. Viste le tematiche così inerenti a quelle di Expo Milano 2015 il convegno ricevette il patrocinio del laboratorio dell'Università Cattolica, UCSC for EXPO.Il 2015 è stato anche l'anno che ha visto l'uscita dell'enciclica Laudato si' di Papa Francesco, che invita a porre uno sguardo diverso sulla nostra 'casa comune', ovvero il nostro pianeta, invitando proprio a trovare quella nuova reciprocità tra umanità e Pianeta cui abbiamo voluto riferirci nel convegno del 2015 e che abbiamo ripreso nel titolo di questo numero tematico, sebbene in forma non più interrogativa.
