About this book
This vibrant and entrancing book invites readers on a journey around the world. Artist and globetrotter Shirin Sahba celebrates the diversity of people, places, and traditions, and revels in the joy of the journey itself. In exquisitely detailed paintings, she captures fleeting moments and small treasures—a brightly colored sari fluttering in the breeze, a mother and child enjoying gelatos on a hot Italian day, the mesmerizing pattern of an antique Chinese carpet. Along the way, the artist shares reflections, inspirations, and stories, immersing readers in each new landscape. Packaged in a petite square and featuring a shimmering foil-stamped cover, this book makes a special gift for nomads, graduates, retirees, or anyone setting off in search of their own new horizons.

Information
The Flower Sellers of Kashmir no. 1
A childhood trip through Kashmir left the region’s colors and details ingrained in my memory. The rivers in those days were filled with boats selling flowers of every color. The pattern in this painting is inspired by traditional Kashmiri designs, often painted on papier-mâché.

The Daydreaming Maharajah
Although I have met a maharajah or two on rare occasions in the past, I can’t really say I’ve met a daydreaming one. . . .

Dusk Rider
The sky has a special glow at dusk in the Mediterranean; it is full of mystery and lingers with a sense of excitement for what’s to come tomorrow.

I’d like to thank all the truly marvelous people who helped the dream of this book come true. In San Francisco, I’d like to thank Mirabelle Korn and Kayla Ferriera for all their hard work and incredible vision. In New York, I’d like to thank Darius Himes for his kind and tireless advice. In Strasbourg, I’d to thank Bahiyyih Nakhjavani, along with her equally talented daughter in London, Mary Victoria, for being my magical guardian angels. In Nairobi, I’d like to thank my brother Naysan Sahba for endlessly buying me books as a child that made me want to make one of my own. In Costa Rica, I’d like to thank my brother Shamim Sahba who early on pushed me to share my work with the world. Last but not least, in San Diego, I’d like to thank my father Fariborz Sahba (and my mama Golnar Sahba in the realms above) who inspired me with their magnificent art and opened my eyes to the entire world.
