Death Wins a Goldfish

Reflections from a Grim Reaper's Yearlong Sabbatical

About this book

Death never takes a day off. Until he gets a letter from the HR department insisting he use up his accrued vacation time, that is. In this humorous and heartfelt book from beloved illustrator Brian Rea, readers take a peek at Death's journal entries as he documents his mandatory sabbatical in the world of the living. From sky diving to online dating, Death is determined to try it all! Death Wins a Goldfish is an important reminder to the overstressed, overworked, and overwhelmed that everyone—even Death—deserves a break once in a while.

SEPTEMBER
image
September 7 "LIFE IS ABOUT LEARNING; WHEN YOU STOP, YOU DIE." Tom Clancy said that, That's what the internet says anyway. He's the guy who wrote The Hunt for Red October (which was made into a movie staruing Sean Connery and a young Alec Baldwin). Allect Einstein said pretty much the same thing though slightly less entreme: "ONCE YOU STOP LEARNING YOU START DYING." He's of course known as being the smartest guy ever, but both of these guys are now dead. This would
suggest that learning was no longer high on their respective priority lists. It is however, for me. So, I've decided to enroll at the local college. Orientation begins next week.
Met the roommate – a bit quiet – nice family though.
