Die Kriegführung der Wehrmacht entbehrte längst der rationalen politisch-strategischen Sinngebung und führte ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste an Menschenleben und Zerstörungen zielstrebig in den nationalstaatlichen Untergang. Vor diesem Hintergrund untersucht Andreas Kunz, wie groß der Einfluss der Wehrmachtsführung auf den Kurs des NS-Regimes vor Kriegsende noch war, ob diesem noch rationale Konzepte zugrunde lagen und warum die Wehrmacht in einer offenkundig aussichtslosen Situation weiterkämpfte.
