In dem 2. Ergänzungsband zu den Bänden 21-23 des "Französischen Etymologischen Wörterbuchs" (FEW) von Walther von Wartburg werden zu den Bänden 22/1, 22/2 und 23 von zahlreichen Mitarbeitern z.T. noch unveröffentlichte Lösungsvorschläge zu den unbekannteren und zweifelhaften Etymologien des FEW vorgestellt. In diesem Band sind ferner wie in Band 1 bereits publizierte Lösungsvorschläge, weiterführende bibliographische Hinweise, Vordatierungen, Korrekturen etc. eingearbeitet. Das Darstellungsprinzip folgt der begrifflichen Anordnung der Materialien und dem Artikelaufbau der Bände 21-23 des FEW, so daß eine unkomplizierte Benutzung des Zusatzbandes zum FEW gewährleistet ist. In Vorbereitung ist ein dritter und letzter Band, der außer den Nachträgen zu Band 1 und 2 eine ganze Reihe von neuen, unveröffentlichten Lösungsvorschlägen und weiterführende Hinweise enthält. Dieser dritte Band wird mit einem Gesamtregister abschließen, das ein alphabetisches Register der Formen, Mundarten, Etymologien und Autoren enthält.
