J'ai été quelque peu surpris, voici quelques années, en prenant
connaissance du corpus que Sara Cigada entendait étudier pendant son
séjour à Lyon: les émotions des textes fondateurs de la Communauté
européenne, autrement dit, les émotions du charbon et de l'acier, peut-on
imaginer moins passionnel? En fait, mon erreur était profonde, et il suffisait
en effet de se pencher sur ces textes pour constater combien ils sont
traversés de conflits, de peurs et d'enthousiasmes socio-politiques. Mais
encore faut-il articuler ces impressions, pour en élaborer une analyse. C'est
ce qu'a fait Sara Cigada, jusqu'à l'accomplissement de cet ouvrage, qui est, à
ma connaissance, parmi les tout premiers en analyse du discours à montrer,
sur un corpus étendu, ce qu'est la systématique des émotions en discours, en
faisant un usage méthodique d'instruments linguistiques inspirés d'une
sémantique des orientations.
