Healing
He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well: go in peace’.
~ Luke 8:48 ~
Lord, teach me how to experience your healing Love.
Flow in me and through me and around me
in a way that feeds me,
strengthens me,
reassures me,
transforms me, lets me grow.
Allow your healing Love to flow through me to others
in quiet ripples of gentle love,
in waves whose force
I do not know or understand.
Enable me to trust that a phone call made at
an appropriate moment,
a chance meeting in the street,
a word spoken in the passing,
can be a miracle.
Let me listen to your Word
knowing that some Bible stories
will change my life,
bring healing in me –
healing which also means wholeness, an
integration in me:
heart speaking to mind,
body teaching me intuitive skills,
a readiness to allow your creative Spirit to mould me anew.

Prayer for Reflection
It is when I am ill, that I call to you Lord,
to heal my body.
When I am well, I call on you less
to guard my health.
Forgive me
if I have taken for granted
your concern for my well-being.
Forgive me
if I have imagined
that Christians should never get ill.
Forgive me
if I have not cared for my body
as though it were the temple of the Lord;
and whatever the state of my mind or body,
let my spirit rejoice in your salvation.
