Este libro es un fruto de la investigación narrativa sobre el secuestro asociado al conflicto armado colombiano, la huella profunda que esta práctica ha dejado en el país y, específicamente en Antioquia, departamento en el cual se cometieron el 20% de la totalidad de los secuestros reportados entre 1958 y 2018. Tiene como objeto registrar las diversas facetas del sufrimiento causado por el prolongado conflicto armado colombiano, y hacer que las historias de las personas secuestradas salgan a la luz. Los relatos dan cuenta de los mecanismos de la inhumanidad, pero también permiten conocer la resiliencia desplegada por las víctimas antes, durante y después del secuestro.
