Automatic Detection Algorithms of Oil Spill in Radar Images

About this book

Synthetic Aperture Radar Automatic Detection Algorithms (SARADA) for Oil Spills conveys the pivotal tool required to fully comprehend the advanced algorithms in radar monitoring and detection of oil spills, particularly quantum computing and algorithms as a keystone to comprehending theories and algorithms behind radar imaging and detection of marine pollution. Bridging the gap between modern quantum mechanics and computing detection algorithms of oil spills, this book contains precise theories and techniques for automatic identification of oil spills from SAR measurements. Based on modern quantum physics, the book also includes the novel theory on radar imaging mechanism of oil spills.

With the use of precise quantum simulation of trajectory movements of oil spills using a sequence of radar images, this book demonstrates the use of SARADA for contamination by oil spills as a promising novel technique.

Microwave Remote Sensing Based on Maxwell Equations

ABSTRACT: This chapter introduces microwave remote sensing as based on Maxwell’s equations. Maxwell’s equations are important to understand microwave technology. In this perspective, the chapter proceeds to grant a scientific clarification of Maxwell’s equations and their mathematical and physical characteristics. It also demonstrates that electromagnetic wave characteristics are a function of the Maxwell’s equation. In this regard, all electromagnetic phenomena can be said to follow from Maxwell’s equations. In relation to relativity theory, Maxwell’s electrodynamics can be formulated in terms of Minkowski space-time.
Maxwell’s equations are the cornerstone to understand the principles of the microwave remote sensing. The common microwave concepts are imperative to comprehend the physics of Maxwell’s equations. Consequently, the large comprehensive Maxwell’s equations are discussed in this chapter. The chapter gives a scientific clarification of Maxwell’s equations and their mathematical and physical characteristics. In these regards, all electromagnetic phenomena can be said to follow from Maxwell’s equations.
However the majority of microwave specialists do no longer correlate between microwave remote sensing and Maxwell’s equations. In this circumstance, the foremost standing is how to run a variety of filter analyses to microwave data to minimize noise. In third world countries, the majority of microwave scientists are interested in mapping without understanding the main concept beyond microwave remote sensing. The common question that arises is, where did these equations come from?

1.1 Maxwell’s Equations

Throughout the 1860s, the Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell revealed an amalgamated speculative narrative of entirely electrical and magnetic spectacles. Maxwell’s equations are one of the pronounced successes of the genius philosophy. These equations are the cornerstone of the relativity theory. Indeed, Einstein far along designated Maxwell’s theory as ‘the greatest insightful and the furthermost rewarding that physics has inspired later, Newton’s era.’ The equations are wonderfully developed and worth showing to the readers. In contrary to with those who deliberated that microwave remote sensing must be grasped without mathematic...
