AAPC Adjusted Average Per Capita Cost
Business accounting and marketing term relating to adjustments made to average per capita costs to increase the accuracy of an analysis.

Insurance term (applied elsewhere as well) to identify condition of having identified risks connected with a planned insured or other venture.
AARS Accrual Accounting and Reporting System

ABC [ACCOUNTING METHOD]
Inventory control method which categorizes by order of importance (e.g., As are higher-valued items, Bs are lower-valued items and Cs are items with the lowest priority in terms of control and attention.
ABS Asset-Backed Securities
Bonds or notes backed by loans or accounts receivable originated by banks, credit card companies or other providers of credit. Brokerage firms that reoffer them to the public underwrite the securities. Also called Pass-Through Securities.
ABS Automated Bond System
Computerized system used by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) for recording bids and offers for inactively traded bonds until they are cancelled or executed.
AC Actual Cost
Accounting term for exact amount as opposed to budgeted or expected amount in connection with a given expense.
ACES Advanced Computerized Execution System
System run by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), which owns and operates the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation System (NASDAQ).
ACRS Accelerated Cost Recovery System; Accelerated Capital Recovery System
Accounting and tax term concerning rules for depreciation of certain types of assets and property. The Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981 made the cost of assets purchased after 1980 recoverable at an accelerated rate under the ACRS. See also ADR.
