El examen clĂnico de los animales comprende la semiologĂa y la propedĂ©utica veterinaria que se incluyen dentro del contexto de la clĂnica, y estĂĄn soportadas en una metodologĂa ordenada de exploraciĂłn fĂsica, dependiente del saber y el quehacer mĂ©dico veterinario. EstĂĄ metodologĂa incluye tĂ©cnicas, mĂ©todos, instrumentos, teorĂa y procesos que favorecen la interpretaciĂłn de las anormalidades de un paciente y de su entorno. La primera fase del mĂ©dico veterinario es establecer un diagnĂłstico rĂĄpido y acertado y para ello se requiere obtener una serie de datos, que pueden ser proporcionados por el dueño del animal o el encargado del mismo; acompañados de los datos obtenidos del examen clĂnico, que descubre los sĂntomas presentes; por lo tanto, se debe seguir una metodologĂa, tanto en el cuestionario que le realizan a quien maneja el animal, como en el examen fĂsico del paciente.
