Este libro analiza los acontecimientos laborales que experimentan las maestras durante sus primeros años de ejercicio profesional, a partir de una comparación entre los problemas de enseñanza vividos por las docentes de Educación Infantil de la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional entre el 2006 y el 2008. En este estudio se contrastan las circunstancias y condiciones en las que las profesoras aprenden a ejercer sus labores pedagógicas; al mismo tiempo, las autoras sostienen que en tal proceso es indispensable "cuidar" de las maestras para que puedan "cuidar y formar". Por ello, los grupos focales de discusión son la herramienta metodológica clave para escuchar voces, evaluar argumentos y, sobre todo, acompañar el proceso formativo y laboral.
