El presente libro está organizado en tres partes: después de haber terminado de hacer la selección de los artículos que publicaríamos, laseditoras tuvimos que emprender la tarea de convertirlos en un libro. El texto final que presentamos aquí, pues, pudo haber tenido muchas formas. Esperamos haber acertado al organizarlo en tres núcleos articulados a través de tres rasgos importantes de la escritura de Montserrat Ordóñez: su carácter autobiográfico —en el continuo de la vida y la escritura— y la centralidad que ocupan en su obra la pregunta por las mujeres y por otras formas de la otredad en la literatura y en la cotidianidad.La estructura de este libro es, entonces, provisional, y por ello sus tres partes se interrelacionan: no hay una clara línea divisoria entre ellas. Como podrán constatar quienes lo lean, la escritura de Ordóñez se mueve claramente entre sus vivencias, entre las condiciones específicas del momento histórico que vivió —no solo como colombo-catalana, sino como latinoamericana—, y las corrientes de pensamiento propias de su tiempo. En la convivencia de todos ellos ocurre su reflexión y su escritura.
