Este libro es una colección de ensayos que exploran desde diferentes perspectivas el lugar y el papel de la religión en las sociedades contemporáneas, que han sido definidas como post-seculares. En efecto, el proceso de secularización caracterizado por fenómenos como la diferenciación de esferas sociales, la pluralización de tradiciones religiosas y la privatización de la religión-, lejos de haber conducido a la desaparición de la religión, ha llevado a su transformación y al surgimiento de nuevas formas de presencia religiosa en la política, la cultura y otras dimensiones sociales. La obra se divide en tres partes: primero, el estudio de las transformaciones de la creencia religiosa en el tiempo post-secular; segundo, la reflexión sobre el lugar de la religión en la esfera pública actual; y finalmente, la exploración de las posibilidades del pensamiento religioso de contribuir a generar alternativas de vida ante problemas globales. El libro está dirigido a investigadores y académicos sobre las relaciones entre religión y modernidad y la presencia de la religión en el mundo actual.
