Arranging further contacts with a company
| Mr Calder | Thank you very much for your help this morning, Mr Wallace. I think weâve made a lot of progress on the matter of financing the deal. |
| Mr Wallace | Yes, I agree. Itâs been useful to clear the air after the initial difficulties we experienced. Presumably, this will not be our last meeting as we must await the final decision and then act quickly. |
| Mr Calder | Indeed. Do you know when weâll know the final decision? |
| Mr Wallace | Iâve been promised an answer by the end of June, so if we say early July there will still be a couple of weeks before we close for the summer vacation. |
| Mr Calder | Fine. How about Monday the 3rd? |
| Mr Wallace | I canât make the morning, but I shall be free all afternoon. More importantly, the main people involved will be able to work on the final proposals that week. If we need to develop our plans further, bringing in other companies or arranging further contacts, there should be time enough to do that. |
| Mr Calder | Shall we say 2 p.m. here? In the meantime we can still explore the possibilities or value of involving other parties both within and outside our companies. |
| Mr Wallace | Very well. Iâll get that organized. Iâll give you a ring by the 14th to confirm everything we might know in the meantime. |
| Mr Calder | Right. Thanks againâŚ. Can I get to the carpark by going straight down in the elevator? |
| Mr Wallace | Yes. First floor, first door on the left. See you in July if not before. |

Ulteriori contatti con unâimpresa
| Sig.
| Sig. Valdese | Pianterreno, prima porta a sinistra. Arrivederla a luglio, se non prima. |

Presenting a proposal
| Helen | Morning John. Do come in and take a seat. |
| John | Morning Helen. Thanks. |
| Helen | You wanted to see me about our new product launch? |
| John | Yes, I think we should try to bring it forward to December. |
| Helen | That might be a bit tight. Any particular reason? |
| John | Well, weâd catch the important Christmas business, and weâd be ahead of the opposition. |
| Helen | Iâm not sure our production people could handle it. |
| John | Not a major problem. Our plant in Wellington can take on more of the production. We have spare capacity there. |
| Helen | Have you discussed this with your people there? |
| John | Yes, and theyâre convinced they can deal with it. |
| Helen | We canât risk any slip-up on thisâthe launch is very important. And what about the advertising schedule? |
| John | Itâs all settled. The advertising copy is virtually ready. The ads could be ... |
