Nel 1875 all'età di trentasei anni Emilio Praga moriva a Milano, lasciando un vuoto d'affetti nell'animo degli amici e un romanzo incompiuto dal titolo "Memorie del presbiterio". à la storia di Emilio, un giovane ventenne con la valigia del pittore sulle spalle, che intraprende un cammino per montagne e convalli che lo porta in un piccolo paese delle Alpi, Sulzena, ospite del curato. La felicità di quella natura viva, brillante e profumata lascerà però il posto ad una difficile e sofferta scoperta del male, proprio in quei luoghi che lo fanno sentire cosÏ in armonia con se stesso, ma che si riveleranno saturi di corruzione e violenza. Fedele all'amico, "alla sua immaginazione ineguale, splendida a lampi, al suo sentimento profondo e malato, bizzarro e delicatissimo" Roberto Sacchetti concluderà l'opera e la darà alle stampe nel 1881: oggi Ellera Edizioni la presenta in versione digitale.
