Der Verfasser der Apostelgeschichte benutzt die Zehnbriefesammlung nicht nur als Quelle. Er entwirft auch einen kohärenten Gesamttext, in dem die Apostelgeschichte als erzählerischer Rahmen für die Lektüre der Paulusbriefe dient: Mithilfe der Angaben aus den Briefen zu Orten, Personen und Ereignissen sowie unter Rückgriff auf ihre Themen wird eine Geschichte erzählt, um die Rezeption der Briefe zu steuern und sie somit einer markionitischen Interpretation zu entziehen. Eine Analyse der narrativen Kohärenz zwischen Apostelgeschichte und Hebräerbrief sowie den Pastoralbriefen ergänzt die Untersuchung. Die methodische Innovation dieser Dissertationsschrift liegt in der Verknüpfung intertextualitätstheoretischer, textlinguistischer und erzähltheoretischer Zugänge bei der Untersuchung der narrativen Kohärenz, die durch narrative Kontinuität und thematische Kohärenz konstituiert wird.
