Der vorliegende Band ist das Ergebnis des Projekts "Interreligiöse Bildung als Beitrag zu einer pluralitätsfähigen Gesellschaft", das sich mit Grundsatzfragen interreligiöser Zusammenarbeit befasst. Die Beiträge untersuchen die starke Betonung von Unterschieden im interreligiösen Dialog, während das Gemeinsame und Integrative weniger zum Tragen kommt. Daraus ergibt sich die Frage nach Möglichkeiten und Grenzen interreligiöser Kommunikation im Bildungskontext. In dem Sinne, dass etwas "auch anders sein könnte als es aktuell ist" (Robert Musil) wird von Kontingenz- oder Möglichkeitsbewusstsein gesprochen. In diesem Bewusstsein nähern sich katholische, evangelische und islamische Religionspädagogen einem Wahrheitsbegriff an, der es ermöglicht, möglichkeitsbewusster und integrativer zu handeln.
