Magdeburg,der Breite Weg - die Straße,die durchs Zentrum geht.
In den Kneipen Musik und Tanz;
Alles zu finden,von Not bis Eleganz.
Wieder ist es 8 nun durch,
nicht nur für den Clochard von Magdeburg.-

Er sieht in den Kneipen Augen voller Glück-
nein-er muß wieder auf die Straße zurück.
"Kumpel - trink' erstmal ein Bier.
Hier nimm - ich schenk 'es Dir."
Wieder ist es 9 nun durch;
nicht nur für den Clochard von Magdeburg.-

Eine lange Nacht für den Clochard von Magdeburg.
Er geht durch die Straßen ohne Ziel;
Nichts was er sah ihm auf Dauer gefiel.
Sieht Menschen in den dunklen Straßen,
die wie er zu leben vergaßen.
Wieder ist es 10 nun durch,
nicht nur für den Clochard von Magdeburg.-

Erstmal Pause - eine Fahrt mit der Straßenbahn;
fragend schaut der Kontrolleur ihn an:
"Ein Fahrschein ???-Nein !!!- Wovon ???
Der Kontrolleur zuckt die Achseln - geht weiter durch die Bahn.

Zurück auf den Straßen - Menschen gehen nach Haus.
Viele sehen glücklich und zufrieden aus.
Nein-er will nicht so sein wie die;
seine Art von Freihei...
