Die Entstehung des Osmanischen Reiches
Ab dem 14. Jahrhundert wurde von einem osmanischen KleinfĂŒrstentum, neben anderen KleinfĂŒrstentĂŒmern, berichtet. Diese FĂŒrstentĂŒmer entstanden, nachdem das Seldschuken Reich unterging. Das neu entstandene Reich wurde nach seinem ersten Herrscher Osman I. (1258-1326) benannt. Der Sohn von Osman I., Orhan (1281-1359) begann mit den ersten gröĂeren EroberungszĂŒgen auf dem europĂ€ischen Kontinent. Er nahm Nicaea (Iznik 1331) und Adrianopel (Edirne um 1361) ein. Zwischen 1363 und 1365 fanden die stĂ€rksten osmanischen MilitĂ€rvorstöĂe in Thrakien (heute: SĂŒdbulgarien) statt.
Die Osmanen unter Bayezid (1389â1402) belagerten Konstantinopel, wĂ€hrend die europĂ€ischen Kreuzritter diese zu entsetzen versuchten, erlitten sie eine Niederlage.
