Durch die Bestrebungen der EuropĂ€ischen Kommission, die Rechnungslegung in den Mitgliedsstaaten der EU zu harmonisieren, rĂŒcken die derzeit fĂŒr den öffentlichen Sektor anwendbaren IPSAS mehr in den Blickpunkt von Wissenschaft und Praxis.ZukĂŒnftige europĂ€ische Standards (EPSAS) sollen nach Auffassung der EU auf den IPSAS basieren, da sie derzeit das einzig international erprobte Rechnungslegungssystem fĂŒr den öffentlichen Bereich sind. Innerhalb von circa zehn Jahren soll die EinfĂŒhrung der europĂ€ischen Rechnungslegungsstandards gelingen.Aus diesem Grund hat die KGSt, gemeinsam mit der Hochschule fĂŒr Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin und einer Pilotkommune, der Stadt Leverkusen, ein Projekt zur exemplarischen Umrechnung eines doppischen Jahresabschlusses nach IPSAS ins Leben gerufen und durchgefĂŒhrt.Die Projektergebnisse enthalten Erkenntnisse zum Umrechnungsprozess, die auch fĂŒr die EinfĂŒhrung zukĂŒnftiger europĂ€ischer Standards wegweisend sein werden.
