Este es un volumen de ensayos cuyo hilo conductor es la relación existente entre pensamiento, educación, novela y movimientos revolucionarios en la sociedad venezolana contemporánea. Gisela Kozak Rovero analiza el papel del ejercicio intelectual en la radicalización política de los últimos años y plantea el estudio de la literatura como una de las vías para entender las corrientes subterráneas de carácter político, social y cultural que han emergido en nuestra vida colectiva en la última década y han tomado forma en el proyecto de nación adelantado por la revolución bolivariana. Los diversos ensayos rastrean entonces cómo se manifiesta y se contempla, en la producción intelectual y literaria venezolanas, el espíritu de ruptura radical que emerge periódicamente en nuestra sociedad y niega el pasado y la institucionalidad en nombre de los intereses supuestos del pueblo. Este texto recibió la mención de honor en la Bienal de Ensayo Enrique Bernardo Núñez, Ateneo de Valencia (2006).
