Summary of Homo Deus: 1 The New Human Agenda

The discussion commenced with the biological poverty line. Humans are evolving very quickly. What used to be an issue in old times is not even a consideration today. The possibility that food won’t be available because it has stopped growing is not even a consideration. A problem arises only when some human entity wants to keep things from others.
Invisible armadas are further significant in this context. The ever fragile human that was tortured to death by the very miniscule bacteria and viruses has started to gain a better position. The bacteria and viruses now face the destruction brought upon them by antibiotics. While science is further evolving to create better fighting bodies, only a few realize that the same infectious germs can be used to wipe out whole nations in war situations.
Times have changed so much that breaking the law and initiating a war is no longer seen as worth the effort. Things that were previously a stimulant for war mongering no longer count. People only want to live peacefully so that they can achieve more in their lives.
Science is certainly moving forward. While it used to concern itself with keeping people alive despite infections and illnesses, now it has started to worry about keeping the human active for longer periods of time. The young human would hence ultimately gain a state where lives would be longer and more productive.
Happiness is a struggle within itself and that might be the second thing that the new scientists would try to make globally apparent. The struggle for happiness is more important to all the human beings but what will be the answer to this need is still a mystery.
Homo Sapiens is evolving and this evolution will be further forced by the science experts in future as they would ensure that only the best of human parts remain and the rest of the human comes in rhythm with machines. The future would involve a more perfect human or would the human convert into a deity as it continues to solve its own problems?
There is literally no end to the progress from the scientific discoveries that are expected to come in the following years and decades. Curiosity has led to a state where the discoveries are directed towards one thing and yet another beneficial thing is found and consequently used for that very purpose.
Knowledge’s value is constantly fluctuating. People have power when they have knowledge but since the current knowledge is coming as humans at the speed of light, the scope of knowledge is becoming limited in what and where the said knowledge can be used.
The past can easily dictate the future of a place, of an event or subject and it is entirely up to the said subject to recognize that past or make something new along the way.
The benefits discussed in the book till this moment are something that can actually turn around and backfire on human beings themselves since they cannot actually forecast all the possible consequences of the things that they keep on introducing through constant inventions.

Summary of Homo Deus: Part I - Homo Sapiens Conquers the World

2 The Anthropocene

While the current epoch can be rightly called Holocene, it would be best to regard the period as Anthropocene because of the influence that humans had on the organization of this time period. Humans have been limited by natural disasters. Animals on the other hand have been limited as a consequence of the human’s habits. The changes in the numbers of animals that have been blamed on humans are just that; humans have acted with their naiveté and left the planet in its current form.
Humans were more in tune with animals in previous times, which is an entirely surprising revelation since the current human only cares for economic progress and doesn’t care if he transgresses and affects the biosphere negatively enough to destroy some other animals. Interestingly, the author considered that it is through the Bible that one learns that animals don’t mean humans any g...
