Manual de historia jurídica que recorre la historia del sistema jurídico mexicano desde el México prehispánico, pasando por la legislación indiana, la aplicación de la justicia en la Nueva España, hasta llegar a la Revolución Mexicana y la emergencia del Estado posrevolucionario durante las décadas de 1920 y 1940. El autor pretende, por un lado, que los ya formados juristas desaprendan lo que hoy en día resulta obsoleto debido a las actualizaciones en la Constitución mexicana; y por otro lado, transmitir la cultura jurídica actual a los estudiantes de derecho sustituyendo los antiguos textos que continúan formando parte de los programas de estudio.
