Das vorliegende Buch setzt sich mit der Problematik literarischer Gegenständlichkeit in den Werken der polnischen und deutschen Autorinnen: Olga Tokarczuk, Joanna Bator, Julia Franck, Tanja Dückers und Jenny Erpenbeck auseinander. Das Ziel der Arbeit ist es, Ähnlichkeiten zwischen den analysierten Romanen und Erzählungen in Bezug auf die Gestaltung der materiellen Welt festzustellen. Zur Analyse literarischer Gegenständlichkeit wurden Erkenntnisse der materiellen Kultur sowie Forschungsansätze von Bruno Latour, Jean Baudrillard, Gaston Bachelard und Dorothee Kimmich eingesetzt. In Bezug auf Figurenkonstellationen, Dinge im Raum und Eigenleben der Dinge wurden Ähnlichkeiten in den Welterschließungsstrategien der analysierten Werke festgestellt.
