Cable Car or Cableway A form of car or carriage which moves along a cable carrying passengers or materials.
Cablegram A telegram via underwater cable. Commercially this is being replaced by the telex system. See Cable or Telex Transfer.
Cable Laid or Hawser Laid A rope pattern consisting of three strands of left hand twisted rope, each strand being an individual rope.

Cabotage or Cabotage Fare Certain countries give priority to commerce and tourism. On this understanding mutual agreements come into operation to develop freight and passenger services on a relatively cheap basis by way of encouragement. Nowadays cabotage air fares are applicable to groups of air travellers between countries with mutual agreements and where state licences are issued to operate these special flights.
