Chapter Six
Human Hopes Are Shattered
From the dawn of humanity until today, human beings have been suffering from most diseases, pests, and problems they have experienced throughout history. Ancient and modern empires, states, revolutions, movements, reform attempts, philosophical theories, religions, celestial creeds, and civil and international institutions and assemblies tried to eliminate them and create a so-called ideal, healthy, and sound world that provides the human on the surface of this planet a safe life free of any security or social or food threat so that he can go to work and exercise his life in dignity and, naturally, away from all threats and pressures and surprises and episodes and problems that undermine his safety and crumble what he has succeeded in building over the years, and interference in the midst of conflicts and wars, and destroys all the achievements of civilization that enable creativity and construction in various fields, and seeks to improve the conditions of his life and make it more comfortable and reassuring for him and for generations to come after him.
In the previous chapters of this book, we discussed how humanity is still standing on the crater, suffering from the ruins of war, fighting, and global insecurity in all its forms, and how economic and political systems have failed to make a better, safer, and more peaceful life. Despite all the achievements of these systems from progress, creativity, and achievement in various fields, where it was able to create the largest Industrial Revolution in the history of man, it also managed to break the space lanes and landing on the moon or the discovery of Mars and to achieve the widest technical revolution in the history of mankind in the world of communication and social communication, to the amazing progress in the world of medicine, astronomy, aviation, and transportation, but it failed to save humanity from destruction and to stop the evils and pests that turn life on this planet into a hell where the flames of war, fighting, injustice, poverty, misery, suffering, and wretchedness are boiling.
Instead of achieving justice, happiness, efficiency, and safety, and all the false slogans it has advocated for, justice, freedom, equality, and dignity, the previous regimes were ledāfrom the days of wild feudalism to commercial, industrial, and financial capitalism, which planted corruption and hatred and spread wars and crises, and communism, which tightened its grip on the freedoms of people and prevented them from breathing and besieged them with poverty, hunger, oppression, repression, and underdevelopment, reaching all the developments and changes that arose from the womb of those regimes and which took for themselves different and contradictory names, such as moderate and moderate capitalism, and integrated socialism and capitalismāto the production of new crises and the rooting of the differences between the classes of society and the dissemination of the principles of colonialism, slavery, monopoly, and corruption. It turned human life into nightmares, both resulting in the destruction of the system of ethics and values or the dissemination of materialism and racing toward consumption, transforming human life into nightmares, whether it resulted in the destruction of the system of ethics and values or the spread of materialism, racing toward the consumption of obscenity and jumping over the necks of the weak and the poor in order to double the wealth of the rich and barons. And then thereās the creation of dinosaurs of transnational institutions, of the mass media, controlled by its owners and controlled by the conditions and destinies of mankind, under the threat of starvation, servitude, and impoverishment.
Although some countries created modern economic, political, and social systems, it is considered a smart combination that benefited from the experiences of others. It achieved some stability and social well-being for its people and kept away the specter of destitution, poverty, war, and foreign intervention of what was called the Third Way Experience in the Scandinavian countries, as we saw in the fourth chapter of this book. Through its experience, it managed to create a fairly stable society, but the experience remained within the context of the mentioned countries and didnāt exceed its regional boundaries due to local reasons and special circumstances related to these countries and their characteristics, potentials, nature, and amount of their resources. It did not contribute to spreading the fruits of this experiment to the rest of the world, because it also started from looking at the interests of its narrow society and did not pay attention to the interests and lives of other people, without taking into consideration that these countries are now a small family of this world and canāt, through the winds of globalization sweeping the world and transforming it into a small village, remain isolated from what is going around them or protect themselves from the effects and repercussions of external events. Therefore, they did not pay attention to the common interests that bind it with other countries and its responsibility to contribute in alleviating suffering and solving the escalating problems around it.
Taking a quick look at the globeās surroundings and the concentration of battlefields, explosions, brutality, and injustice is enough to prove beyond doubt that the entire world, while crossing the second decade of the third millennium, is heading toward the abyss. The earth shook, and the individual, who is at the center of this world, is not able anymore to be aware of what is going on around him, and when his life and the life of his family and society become a target for money and wars and traders, after being revealed to the hellish machine used by these regimes and becoming naked of the most specific characteristics and vulnerable to violation, evasion, torture, and death at any moment, without any legitimate or legal justification, after the law of the jungle took control over this world, and the influence, strength, and dominance fell in the hands of the strong, in the coffers of his money and the warehouses of his weapon and arbitrariness of media and the assault of banks and financial markets.
All the falsehood and deceit we were subjected to by the previous economic, political, and social systems, through which humankind was promised with virtues, freedoms, security, and stability, all failed. It can no longer persist in its lies and deceit after its misfortunes were exposed by the frequent wars that killed millions of people by advanced military machine, and by widening the gap between the rich and the poor in this world, and by the practices of tyranny, colonialism, and settlement, under which the people of the developing countries are living, and the spread of all kinds of corruption and evils created by the pioneers of free trade and open markets and casino financial market, where all these allegations turned to its contrary year after year. Democracy became an imperialist that threatens the people and nations, and freedoms became entrenched and constrained by the results of the collection of taxes and intelligence services, and the investigation of information about the most accurate details of the activity of the individual and his movements, statements, ideas, attitudes and views, and culture became a heavy burden on the owners and a means to serve the owners of glory and money, and human rights were lost under the ruins of killing and destruction.
When the former American president George Bush declared the birth of the new world the day after the liberation of Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion in 1991 and the collapse of the Soviet Union, he knew that all the promises he made were a whirlwind in a cup, and it ended at the edge of the American strategic dream to control the world, the loneliness of ruling and reformulation in order to achieve American interests and trends of expansion and hegemony and the globalization of the American world, with the aim of dissolving all identities, cultures, and beliefs, and turning the human being in different countries of the world into a servant of the American administration and an executor of its ambitions.
In his speech about this new world, Bush spoke about the idea of a ānew era,ā an āera of freedom,ā and a ātime of peace for all people.ā He then proceeded to proclaim a ānew world system, free of terrorism, effective in the search for justice, and more secure in the quest for peace, an era in which all nations in the west, east, north and south can enjoy prosperity and live in harmony.ā
This was how Bush, the president of the worldās largest nation, showed us his promises of freedom and lasting peace, freedom from terrorism and spread of justice and prosperity, but he was in fact unable to fulfill any of these promises. He certainly knew that he was not worthy of making such promises because he was doomed by institutions, agencies, lobbyists, and companies having their own internal and external strategies, which wonāt allow, whatever the genius of the ruling president was, anyone to overcome the policies designed to seize the historic opportunities to launch the American hand to dominate the world after the removal of the communist camp, which tried to participate, for five decades, in ruling the world. He also tried to frustrate its plans and attempts to unify this control.
The ink of these promises were barely dry when the war on terrorism was launched by his son George W. Bush in 2001, in the aftermath of the aggressions on September 11, 2001. He attacked Afghanistan, a former killing machine of the Soviet Union, and invaded Iraq, occupying and destroying all it constructions and institutions, in 2003 and didnāt leave his position until he drove America and the world into the most severe financial and economic crisis known to mankind since 1929. The effects and severe repercussions of the crisis extended for years on other countries, especially the European Union.
The other side of the Eastern Bloc was not better in making deceptive promises, when the bloc promised humanity to vanquish feudalism, monopolization, and injustice, to consolidate equality and justice, and to restore laborersā and workersā rights. It only, during the seventy years of ruling and controlling Eastern Europe and spreading the socialist communist doctrine in the various countries of the world, put down these countries and their peoples in poverty and repression and dragged the world into a long series of destructive wars during the period known as the Cold War, which we mentioned in details in the first chapter of this book, which led eventually to the declaration of the failure of the socialist communist system and the humiliation of the owners themselves after the leader Mikhail Gorbachev declared his new theories of Perestroika and Glasnost, which represented the decisive blow to the demise of communism and the liberation of the Eastern European states and the return to the capitalist system, allowing America to launch the new projects in the world by virtue of the world.
The failure of the communist experiment was due to the concentration of economy, which destroyed the active economic cycle. Russia suffered from problems of finding food and clothing, and the shortages of commodities began to contradict the promises of communist welfare.
This failure also appeared in the ruling figures that were formed due to the long term in authority. Dr. Salman Mohammed Salman, the legal Sudanese expert of the World Bank, wrote in his article āThe Post-Capital Societyā tha...
