MOVIE-MAKING STORIES
So now you’re a pro when it comes to scriptwriting, filming and editing – are you ready to make a blockbuster?
Many movies can be put into categories called ‘genres’ (pronounced ‘jon-ra’) depending on the kind of story they tell: comedies, horror movies, spy films and so on. Different genres have different styles of movie-making, and in this section you’ll have a chance to explore a few of the most popular.
Do you fancy turning your friends into superheroes or scaring them silly with some spooky surprises? Maybe you’d like to create suspense and mystery in a spy story, or turn the clock back to create a classic old movie. The projects in this section take you through all the steps needed to make your own movie masterpieces, with plenty of scope for your own ideas and creativity.
So what are you waiting for – it’s time to get shooting on your own big-screen smash!
SHOOTING SUPERHEROES
This project shows lots of different ways to turn an ordinary friend into an extraordinary superhero. Try the different techniques individually, or put them together to make a superpower montage!
FOR SUPERSONIC SPEED YOU’LL NEED…
• A camera
• A tripod
• An actor
• Editing software or app

The best location for this scene is a park or garden where you have lots of space, so that you can film your actors standing very far away from the camera (this is called an EXTREME WIDE SHOT).
