Mirandolina con un tondo in mano, ed il Servitore, e detto.
MIRANDOLINA: È permesso?
CAVALIERE: Chi è di là?
SERVITORE: Comandi.
CAVALIERE: Leva lĂ  quel tondo di mano.
MIRANDOLINA: Perdoni. Lasci ch’io abbia l’onore di metterlo in tavola colle mie mani. (Mette in tavola la vivanda.)
CAVALIERE: Questo non è offizio vostro.
MIRANDOLINA: Oh signore, chi son io? Una qualche signora? Sono una serva di chi favorisce venire alla mia locanda.
CAVALIERE: (Che umiltĂ !). (Da sĂŠ.)
MIRANDOLINA: In verità, non avrei difficoltà di servire in tavola tutti, ma non lo faccio per certi riguardi: non so s’ella mi capisca. Da lei vengo senza scrupoli, con franchezza.
CAVALIERE: Vi ringrazio. Che vivanda è questa?
MIRANDOLINA: Egli è un intingoletto fatto colle mie mani.
CAVALIERE: SarĂ  buono. Quando lo avete fatto voi, sarĂ  buono.
MIRANDOLINA: Oh! troppa bontĂ , signore. Io non so far niente di bene; ma bramerei saper fare, per dar nel genio ad un Cavalier sĂŹ compĂŹto.
CAVALIERE: (Domani a Livorno). (Da sĂŠ.) Se avete che fare, non istate a disagio per me.
MIRANDOLINA: Niente, signore: la casa è ben provveduta di cuochi e servitori. Avrei piacere di sentire, se quel piatto le dà nel genio.
CAVALIERE: Volentieri, subito. (Lo assaggia.) Buono, prezioso. Oh che sapore! Non conosco che cosa sia.
MIRANDOLINA: Eh, io, signore, ho de’ secreti particolari. Queste mani sanno far delle belle cose!
CAVALIERE: Dammi da bere. (Al Servitore, con qualche passione.)
MIRANDOLINA: Dietro questo piatto, signore, bisogna beverlo buono.
CAVALIERE: Dammi del vino di Borgogna. (Al Servitore.)
MIRANDOLINA: Bravissimo. Il vino di Borgogna è prezioso. Secondo me, per pasteggiare è il miglior vino che si possa bere.
(Il Servitore presenta la bottiglia in tavola, con un bicchiere.)
CAVALIERE: Voi siete di buon gusto in tutto.
MIRANDOLINA: In verità, che poche volte m’inganno.
CAVALIERE: Eppure questa volta voi v’ingannate.
MIRANDOLINA: In che, signore?
CAVALIERE: In credere ch’io meriti d’essere da voi distinto.
MIRANDOLINA: Eh, signor Cavaliere... (Sospirando.)
CAVALIERE: Che cosa c’è? Che cosa sono questi sospiri? (Alterato.)
MIRANDOLINA: Le dirò: delle attenzioni ne uso a tutti, e mi rattristo quando penso che non vi sono che ingrati.
CAVALIERE: Io non vi sarò ingrato. (Con placidezza.)
MIRANDOLINA: Con lei non pretendo di acquistar merito, facendo unicamente il mio dovere.
CAVALIERE: No, no, conosco benissimo... Non sono cotanto rozzo quanto voi mi credete. Di me non avrete a dolervi. (Versa il vino nel bicchiere.)
MIRANDOLINA: Ma... signore... io non l’intendo.
CAVALIERE: Alla vostra salute. (Beve.)
MIRANDOLINA: Obbligatissima; mi onora troppo.
CAVALIERE: Questo vino è prezioso.
MIRANDOLINA: Il Borgogna è la mia passione.
CAVALIERE: Se volete, siete padrona. (Le offerisce il vino.)
MIRANDOLINA: Oh! Grazie, signore.
CAVALIERE: Avete pranzato?
MIRANDOLINA: Illustrissimo sĂŹ.
CAVALIERE: Ne volete un bicchierino?
MIRANDOLINA: Io ...
