La Costituzione livornina fu emanata nel 1593 da Ferdinando I de' Medici, coerentemente con le antecedenti norme emesse dalla corte dei Medici (tra il 1548 e il 1593) aventi come scopo lo sviluppo commerciale delle cittĂ Toscane, soprattutto di Livorno e Pisa. I destinatari principali delle leggi livornine furono gli Ebrei, ai quali vennero concessi privilegi di portata straordinaria e unica nell'Europa del Cinquecento. Ferdinando I de' Medici (Firenze, 30 luglio 1549 â Firenze, 7 febbraio 1609) fu cardinale (1562-1587) e successivamente Granduca di Toscana (1587-1609).
