Daß diese Werke fĂŒr Orgel und nicht fĂŒr Pedal-Cembalo bestimmt waren, bezeugt der hier zitierte Titel aus dem von C. P. E. Bach verfaßten Nekrolog; siehe Dok III, Nr. 666 (S. 86). In diesem Sinne Ă€ußert sich auch Siegbert Rampe (Bachs Klavier- und Orgelwerke. Das Handbuch, Laaber 2008, S. 798): „TrĂ€gt man die Sonaten [
] auf einem großen Pedalclavichord vor, verbieten schon die trĂ€ge Ansprache der 16’-Saiten im Pedal und die auf solchen Instrumenten wesentlich diffizileren technischen Anforderungen ein ĂŒber eine mittlere Geschwindigkeit hinausgehendes Tempo.“ Siehe auch J.
