Die vorliegende Untersuchung geht der Frage nach, wie diakonische Bildung an der Schule zu begründen ist, und zeigt auf, welchen Beitrag diakonische Bildung leisten kann und soll. Sie entwirft eine Didaktik diakonischen Lernens, die dem Paradigma der Erzählung vom barmherzigen Samariter (Lk 10, 25-37) folgt: Diakonisches Lernen vollzieht sich in drei Schritten: Ansehen – Deuten – Handeln. Die Ausarbeitung dieses Dreischritts führt zu einem diakonischen Kompetenzmodell. Dieses weist diakonische Bildung als wesentlichen Beitrag zur allgemeinen Bildung aus und bietet sich als Instrument für das ganz konkrete Arbeiten in Praktika, Unterricht und Schule an.
