Seit 2006 in Marl und Aachen in ehemaligen Pfarrkirchen Kolumbarien eingerichtet wurden, begann in der Bestattungskultur gewissermaßen ein neues Zeitalter.Mittlerweile gibt es gut drei Dutzend dieser Kirchenkolumbarien, etliche sind in Planung.Man knüpft hier an religionskulturell Bekanntes an – manches muss aber auch ganz neu gedacht werden.
