Die empirische Studie analysiert die Arbeit von Gemeindepfarrern, die neben ihrer Tätigkeit in der Gemeinde für einige Stunden in der Woche an allgemeinbildenden Schulen das Fach "evangelische Religion" unterrichten. Die Studie evaluiert Muster ihrer professionellen Identität in der Schule, ihre Integration in das System Schule und die Zusammenarbeit von Schule und Gemeinde. Die Studie beruht auf Interviews mit Pfarrern der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Bayern und der Evangelischen Kirche in Mitteldeutschland. Die Interviews wurden mittels qualitativer Inhaltsanalyse ausgewertet. Die Chance für volkskirchliche Gemeindepfarrer bei ihrer Lehrtätigkeit an Schulen besteht darin, im Sinne einer Kulturhermeneutik unterschiedliche Milieus, die sich in der Schule vorfinden, wahrzunehmen und von diesen Milieus als Repräsentanten der Ortsgemeinde wahrgenommen zu werden. Deshalb unterstützt die Studie den Einsatz von Gemeindepfarrern als Religionslehrkräfte an allgemeinbildenden Schulen. [The Parish Pastor as Religious Education Teacher Empirical Studies on Self-Image, Acting in the School System and the Proximity of School and Congregation] This empirical study does a scientific analysis of Lutheran parish pastors who teach religion in public schools for a few hours per week. The study explores patterns of their professional identity in the school, their integration within the school system and common activities between church and school. The study is based on interviews with 21 parish pastors of the Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche in Bayern (Bavaria) and the Evangelische Kirche in Mitteldeutschland (Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia). The interviews have been evaluated according to qualitative content analysis divided up into categories. The chances for pastors that come from a popular church are both to perceive different milieus which are represented at school, and to be perceived as the representatives of the local church. For these reasons the study advocates that parish pastors continue to teach religious education at public schools.
