emf
equations
The
two
specific
formulae
are
derived
using
Kirchhoff’s
voltage
law,
which
states
that:

sum
of
the
applied
(or
generated)
emfs
is
equal
to
the
sum
of
all
the
voltage
drops
in
any
closed
circuit.
OR
The
algebraic
sum
of
all
voltages
around
a
closed
loop
in
a
circuit
is
equal
to
zero.
