Jahrhunderts zunehmend mit AbolitionistInnen im atlantischen Raum vernetzten und eigene sklavereikritische Stellungnahmen in den grenzüberschreitenden Diskurs einbrachten. Die Untersuchung deutscher SklavereigegnerInnen erweitert und verändert nicht nur den Blick auf die Abolitionsbewegung als grenzüberschreitendes historisches Phänomen, sondern auch auf den deutschen Raum als Teil des sogenannten atlantischen Hinterlands.
