Obgleich sich die vorliegende Arbeit in erster Linie an den Slavisten wendet, enthält sie - bedingt durch ihre fachübergreifende Thematik - eine Zahl zumeist musikwissenschaftlicher Fachbegriffe, die im Zusammenhang mit einer Beschäftigung mit altrussischer und byzantinischer Kirchenmusik unvermeidbar sind. Für den auf diesem Gebiet nicht ausreichend vorbereiteten Leser könnten sich folglich Schwierigkeiten beim Verstehen dieser oder jener Textstelle ergeben. Um dem vorzubeugen, soll hier auf engem Raum eine knappe und sicherlich nicht vollständige Erläuterung einiger Fachtermini erfolgen, deren Bedeutung im Normalfall als nicht unbedingt bekannt vorausgesetzt werden darf.
