Die zunehmende Arbeitslosigkeit in der Bundesrepublik äußert sich in einer Außenverlagerung der Beveridge-Kurve. In dieser Arbeit werden ausgehend von einem Strom-Bestands-Ansatz die theoretischen Ursachen hierfür analysiert. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei der Einfluß von Lohnsetzung und Langzeitarbeitslosigkeit. Eine branchenbezogene antizipative Insider-Lohnsetzung bei Lohnführerschaft eines Sektors mit durchschnittlicher Produktivitätsentwicklung stellt eine besonders problematische Konstellation dar. Entwertet sich das Humankapital während der Arbeitslosigkeit, führt schon ein schwacher Abschwung zu einer dauerhaften Zunahme der Arbeitslosigkeit. Der Effekt wird durch die Berücksichtigung von Insider-Lohnsetzung zusätzlich verstärkt. Eine Datenanalyse zeigt, daß hier eine Erklärung für die beobachtbare Außenverlagerung der Beveridge-Kurve liegt.
