Las principales nociones del feminismo de Kollontay podrían así sintetizarse: a) Las mujeres no han sido forjadas a su condición secundaria por la Naturaleza sino por las condiciones sociales; b) el capitalismo es el responsable por el sometimiento de ambos sexos; c) la liberación de las mujeres sólo puede asegurarse con la modificación radical del sistema capitalista; d) la clase obrera está siempre más cerca de la liberación de las mujeres debido a su ínsita posición de "compañerismo" y de "solidaridad esencial".
