La ormai storica Associazione, fondata nel 1992, e che è stata a suo tempo protagonista del salvataggio degli archivi dei partiti politici della prima Repubblica, ha voluto riflettere su due temi fondamentali: Politica e cultura. Un divorzio? (Roma, Camera dei deputati, Sala della Regina, 2 ottobre 2012) e Il ruolo degli Istituti di cultura italiani nella strategia europea 2020 (Roma, Istituto Luigi Sturzo, 8 ottobre 2012). La valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale a tutto campo e la fondamentale importanza dell'azione delle istituzioni di cultura e delle riviste culturali nello sviluppo dell'idea di democrazia e del rapporto tra l'Italia e l'Europa sono i punti rilevanti che emergono dai vari interventi e il contenuto forte della politica della cultura, nell'ottica del rafforzamento della strategia europea di Horizon 2020.
